The Conference and Introductory Training focus on traumatic attachment disorders and their evidence-based treatment. Emphasis is on therapeutic parenting/care to facilitate a healthy and secure attachment and how Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy®, DDP®, as an empirically validated treatment, and its principles can be effectively used in different settings to help create capacity for attachment, improve the ability for healthy emotional life and relationships – the basic things one needs for a good life. The conference & training will also give attendees the overall knowledge on complex relational trauma and impairments on development caused by it.
Target group Professionals working with traumatised children and young people in different contexts and who are in the position to care, assess or provide treatment/therapies for them, including foster carers/parents, psychologists, child psychiatrists, therapists and social workers in foster and residential care, family guidance clinics, child protection and welfare, psychiatric units, and special schools. Also teachers of educational institutions for social and health care, and teachers and researchers of universities are in an important position to disseminate new ways to help our most vulnerable clients. Training is credited in the therapist training programs of DDP Institute and Attachment-Focused Treatment Institute.
